Activities

Is your dream to live the experience of a day's harvest with a vintner? It can now come true when you go to the La Bauge winery in Brigham. The vintner, Simon Naud, will welcome you and help you discover his passion, his challenges and his vision of wine growing. You will take part in all of the steps in the creation of a new vintage, from the harvest of the grapes to the pressing and the sowing of the yeast. This special vintage will be given to you the following summer.

Description of the activity « Vigneron d'un jour »

Domaine du Ridge

The vineyard's cellar master will be pleased to have you take part in the chores while informing you on wine making. You may choose between two possibilities:

Wine grower for a day

  • 9 am – arrival at the vineyard
  • 9:30 am – grape harvesting
  • Noon – lunch with a glass of wine
  • 1 pm – back to the fields
  • 4 pm – end of harvesting
  • 4:15 pm – wine and cheese, visit of the premises and photo session
  • Cost: $35 including the gift of a bottle of wine

Wine grower's day

  • 9 am – arrival at the vineyard
  • 9:30 am – grape harvesting
  • Noon – lunch
  • 1 pm – back to the fields
  • 5 pm – end of harvesting
  • 5:15 pm – aperitif
  • 6 pm – dinner : grill on vine shoots
  • Cost: $50

For its part, the cellar master of the Domaine du Ridge vineyard will be pleased to have you take part in the winery's work while teaching you about winemaking. You can also crush the grapes with your feet in its traditional vat, by women only, as tradition dictates. It only happens once during the harvest, so to find out when this is taking place, call the winery at 450-248-3987.

As for the Val Caudalies winery and cider mill in Dunham, it invites you to come and pick your own seedless table grapes. This year, the grapes will be ready much earlier and the picking will be open to the public as of Saturday, September 4.
