The Brome Lake Flavours Tour
This 51-kilometre tour offers you some exceptional views overlooking magnificent Lake Brome. In addition to the landscape, you’ll also be able to savour several of the area’s local producers’ gourmet selections. On your way, you’ll discover two of the most amazing vineyards of the Eastern Townships.
Plan a stopover in the Coeur Villageois of Knowlton, a town considered among the most beautiful villages of Quebec. Take advantage of this time to pause in a café, a bakery, or yet again, to visit the Brome County Museum, where you’ll learn all about the Fokker D.VII, a World War I German warplane.
Do you need to refresh yourself? Stop by Douglass Beach for a dip in the lake, or drop in at Cyclerie Knowlton to savour an ice cream treat surrounded by a “bicycle” decor (they also offer a basic bike repair service for cyclists).
First Stop
In Shefford, this small, family-owned vineyard and boutique wine cellar works from the field to the bottle to present quality products with plenty of stories to tell. The rocky soil composition of the region (schist, green and black slate and sandstone) creates the rich and distinctive terroir that is honoured in each of the vineyard’s cuvées.
Second Stop
Located in the heart of the valleys between Bromont and Brome Lake, the Domaine ValBrome was launched towards the end of 2017. Since their first cider production in 2019, made with their crisp apples, they’ve developed a wide range of ciders, using special apple varieties, such as Kingston Black and Bulmer’s Norman. With 21,000 grape vines (Vidal, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Gewürztraminer), the domain now produces six wines to savour on the lovely terrace overlooking the orchard.
Third Stop
Nestled on the slopes of Mount Brome, this vineyard overlooks Brome Lake Valley with its breathtaking views. Taste their wines while relaxing on the terrace, enjoy the picnic area for a lunch break or take a guided tour. These are just some of the options for enjoying the beauty of the site.
